Impact Portable Gas Detector
The Impact range of portable multigas monitors is able to monitor and display up to four gases simultaneously, including flammable and oxygen gases, as well as up to two further toxic gases. Sensors are housed in a plug-in cartridge. The sensor cartridge has a 12 month life and should be replaced at the end of each 12 month period. The key advantage of this system is that it allows the user to budget for gas detector-related expenses each year ie. 2 x NATA calibrations + a sensor cartridge, per 12 months.
Impact is a compact and rugged detector designed for tough environments. Small, lightweight and unobtrusive, it is ideal for use in confined spaces where entry and exit may be difficult. Impact is designed to work how you want it to. Gas checks prior to entering a confined space can be carried out using a drop line, hand aspirator or via an optional built-in pump that turns on and off automatically when the sampling tube is connected.

IOM Sampler
The patented * IOM Sampler, developed by J. H. Vincent and D. Mark at the Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM) in Scotland, meets the ACGIH sampling criteria for inhalable particulate mass. The IOM Personal Inhalable Sampler is a conductive plastic sampling head that houses a reusable 25-mm filter cassette with specified filter for the collection of inhalable airborne particles. When attached to a personal sampling pump operating at 2 L/min and clipped near a worker's breathing zone, the IOM effectively traps particles up to 100 μm in aerodynamic diameter and closely simulates the manner in which airborne workplace particles are inhaled through the nose and mouth. Because both the cassette and the filter are pre-and post-weighed as a single unit, all particles collected (even larger ones) are included in the analysis. RCS High Flow Air Sampler
The RCS High Flow air sampler is a high precision instrument for detecting the microbial content of air.
It can sample volumes of up to 1m3. Included in the package is an infra-red remote control, 2 Ni/Cad batteries, an opener for the battery compartment and a carrying case.
The Biotest RCS High Flow is lightweight, handheld Air Sampler. With a flow rate of 100 l/min the air stream enters the rotor from the front of the instrument and airborne microbes are impacted onto an agar strip through centrifugal force. The air is then directed through exhaust outlets in the air direction ring parallel with the instrument to reduce turbulence.
Impaction of airborne microbes onto the agar strip by centrifugal force provides a gentle and efficient collection mechanism. Even damaged airborne microbes can be detected. This has been documented in papers with high values of physical and biological sampling efficiency. This bio efficiency can only be achieved with a complete system with the agar strips being uniquely designed for this air sampler.
The sampling efficiency of microbial air samplers is highly dependant upon the quality of the culture media. Only a complete system consisting of calibrated air samplers along with standardised agar media provides a high sampling efficiency and ensures reproducibility. The ready to use agar strips are produced under standardised conditions and will provide reproducible results over the entire shelf life. No other system can achieve the quality offered by this package.

High Volume Air Samplers
The High-Vol Sampler with PM10 head
The Flow-Set HVS is "State of the art" in High Volume (70 SCFM) Air Sampler. It's purpose is to draw precise volumes of air through a filter paper of known weight, for a set period of time. The filter paper can then be re-weighed after that time period, and the Particulate loading of the air (in mg/m3) can be calculated. The paper contents can also be examined and analysed.
The function of this air sampler is to keep the air flow constant, as the particulate loading increases over time. Unlike traditional systems though, the need for mechanical sensors and controls (i.e velocity sensors, strain gauges) has been eliminated.
The PM10 head separates particles smaller than 10 microns, from those greater than 10 microns. The particles greater than 10 microns settle out in the impaction chamber on the collection shim, and are removed during cleaning or maintenance. The particles smaller than 10 micron are carried upward by the air flow, and settle in the quartz fibre filter.
There is a corresponding PM2.5 head for particles smaller than 2.5 microns.
The TSP head collects Total Suspended Particles, without separating particles of different sizes. It is designed to meet requirements for sampling airborne particulates at a known flow rate for a determined amount of time, allowing for proper calculation or airborne particulate concentrations
Glass Fibre Filters are especially recommended wherever gravimetric weighing analysis may be required because of their non-hygroscopic properties, i.e. they will maintain constant weight under wide-ranging conditions of ambient humidity. Their excellent loading characteristics make them ideal for routine air monitoring and for specialised monitoring of solid pollutants, microrganisms, oil and acid smokes etc. Their fine optical characteristics make them ideal for sensitive and accurate measurement of collected smoke particle. Used especially for on-the-spot visual examination and instrumentation.
Composition of the Glass Fibre Filter is of such a nature that the finely woven texture of microfilaments of glass creates the highest sampling efficiency. The efficiency of the Glass Fibre Filters at the relative flow rate for particles as small as .3 micron is 99.98%
